Providing us with oxygen, shelter, jobs, water, nourishment and fuel, trees
and forests are intertwined into our existence in more ways than you could
imagine. Deforestation has shifted our planet into a
defining era, that without serious action, could
re-write the future for the next generation.
Every day, an area of forest the size of New York City is lost.
Why is this happening? Catering for the world’s growing population and
keeping up with consumer demand has driven a need for agricultural
expansion to grow food, improve road infrastructure to transport goods,
and expand towns and cities to support urbanisation.
Up to 28,000 species could go extinct in the next 25 years due to
deforestation.
The future of our existence depends on nature, and tampering with the
delicate balance of the world’s ecosystems is not smart - or
sustainable. Forests are vital for protecting the world’s plants
and animals, as well as providing homes and livelihoods for millions of
people. But the deadliest risk? Forest loss and damage is the
cause of around 10% of global warming.

From wildfire restoration in California to planting seeds of change in
Haiti, One Tree Planted partners with thousands of local volunteers
across the globe to restore forest habitats for threatened species,
increase food security and improve sustainable development in
communities across the globe - nurturing the planet, protecting life,
and inspiring hope for generations to come.
So far, House of Marley's contribution to One Tree Planted has helped
restore over 13,000 hectares of land - roughly the equivalent size to San
Francisco
